Nanako is fairly tall for a girl at 160cm. She has a slight, but toned build, as well as jet black hair which sometimes has coloured flashes in it. Her skin is pale and her eyes are a deep shade of brown. Her style is casual, and she sticks to mainly dark colours with her wardrobe.personality
Nanako is the type of person that would pretend that they don't like much of anything. However, one of the things she is somewhat passionate about is music. Dance is also something that she has done for years, ever since she was a little girl. However, at the same time she was learning dancing as a child, she was also learning three different martial arts - her most proficient of which is Taekwondo. As a result, she has perfect balance and poise, as well as being perfectly toned. Shame she wastes that posture by deliberately slouching sometimes, and ruining her health by smoking. She also hides her passions from view, and doesn't let anyone know about them. Although, she can be seen most of the time with her earphones in, listening to music.
As far as dislikes go, Nanako makes sure people think she has plenty of them. She dislikes homework, school in general, being bossed around, people talking down to her, people who think they're better than her, goodie-two-shoes, and people talking back to her. Generally, Nanako isn't a people person, nor a team player. So even being spoken to sometimes can set her off. She gives off the air of someone who dislikes everyone, and it would be very rare for someone to get under her skin and into her head - nevermind her heart.
A Yankee doesn't have fear. Or, at least, that's what Nanako tells herself on a daily basis. However, Nanako does have fears, but she pushes them aside. Some would call it running away, but to her, that's her way of dealing. As far as she's concerned, her fears don't exist. She doesn't have any. But really, she's scared of losing her family. She's scared that her little sister will grow up to be as messed-up as she is. She's scared of letting someone get too close to her. She's scared to let anyone see the real her. All of this is hidden beneath her cold and angry exterior.
Being a Yankee, the first thing Nanako would tell you should you ask her what her strengths are, is strength itself. She's strong, especially for a girl, and she's a very skilled fighter, in 3 different martial arts. However, Taekwondo is her best one. She's a good dancer as well, though good luck getting her to dance, or seeing her dance - you would fail miserably, and most likely end up with a broken nose for your trouble. She's brave, and will meet everything in her path head-on without a second's pause. She can also play guitar, bass and drums.
Nanako likes to pretend that she's laid-back, but really, as soon as something against her is said, she's up in the person's face in a second. She's a tad insecure, though she doesn't let that on to anyone, which is why she's almost always on the defensive when she's talking to someone. She likes her space, and as soon as someone gets "too close", she'll snap. She's not good with dealing with other people, although that's mainly because of her own insecurity that if she befriends someone and let's them close to her, they'll break her trust or betray her. As far as she's concerned, a Yankee doesn't need friends.
Really, Nanako is just a normal, insecure girl underneath her hard exterior. She could be a sweetheart (well, almost) if only someone would take the time and effort to drag her out of her shell.family & history

Nanako was raised in an average family, with herself, her parents and her little sister. Her family was never perfect, and they never claimed to be. Her parents argued, she and her sister argued. It was what family's done, wasn't it? Up until she was thirteen, Nanako was just your typical girl, if slightly tomboy-ish, but she still had a fiery temper. However, it was at this point that things started to change.
Nanako's father had been having an affair. She was old enough now to know exactly what her parents were talking about when they argued, and she heard everything one night when they thought she and her sister were sleeping. It was only the next day when Nanako came home from school, her father and all his things had gone. She only found her mother sitting at the dining table, crying.
It was at that moment that Nanako changed. She was no longer friendly, no longer sweet, no longer trusting. She could only wonder how long this had been going on for. Had he cheated before? Was it the same woman? It certainly would have explained why her parents fought more than the parents in other families. Growing up with it, it had all seemed so normal, until she had stayed over at friend's houses and noticed that their families were very different from her own.
Nanako's anger only grew from there, and she became determined that she couldn't trust anyone. No one. She got into a fight at school, with one of the yankees, and ended up beating him. The thrill of a fight, a real fight and not just martial arts training, caught her attention for the first time. It was exhilarating. Eventually, she earned herself quite the reputation in her home town, and ended up getting expelled from her school. Furious, her mother had sent her off to another town, to stay with her grandmother.
Now though, Nanako's grandmother is determined that her granddaughter has to make a new start. However, Nanako is never going to say she was happy with the move, because life was still containing the same things. The only thing that was missing now regularly in her life was her parents and sister. And she'd tell anyone that asked that she didn't miss them at all. New home, new town, new school, new people. One can only wonder how it will turn out...other
