Group: Karasumori High School, head of Wataru's gang, important male in Karasumori school tumbling team.

full blown bright red hair, super cute smile!
Personality: Wataru is definitely hot headed and jumps to conclusions quite quickly. He loves to stand out and show his strengths shown by his red hair. Being the head of a gang means he is a kick-ass fighter with good skills and quick reactions which makes him perfect for being a member of the tumbling club! His lazy side of not always attending school led him to being forced into doing club activities and he only chooses to do tumbling at first due to his love at first sight with the new transfer student in his class!
He used to love fighting and that was all he did!
Atfirst, Wataru is only friends with his yankee friends including ryosuke and nippori. The three of them always sticks together and has gone through alot of tough things with one another. After joining the tumbling team, Wataru has slowly be-friended most of the team including Yuta, Mizusawa, Tsuchiya and Kaneko. His strong willed mind and spirit of never giving up makes it easier for him to create a strong friendship with them. But, the way how he always offends them with putting down the art of tumbling pisses the rest of the team off at first. Considering how he didnt take it seriously at first!
His ability to 'confront' people makes him unable to avoid and is annoying in a good way...sometimes.
He has a 'big brother' side to him- (aniki! as nippori always says) which makes him want to look after everyone else but he is also just like a child especially coming to the things that happen to his family. The tragedy he experienced with his dad allowed him to grow up more and realise the importance of family. He then helped Hino to realise his love for rhythmic gymnastics and conviced him to join them in their fun! The way how he can relate to everyone else makes him a valuable member to the club.
When it comes to love, he is HOPELESS. He is just like an innocent school boy who gets shy very easily and would just watch silently the girl he likes. But he would also do anything he can to help her without her knowing and is a true man. When he sees his dream girl, he smiles from his heart and is very transparent through his actions in which the rest of his friends knows his feelings.
Wataru also 'hates' hino, since he always wants to beat him in everything. He is definitely competitive!
He is the member who, apart from the captain, keeps the team together. It must be the AURA around him! Wataru has the ability to make the team never give up and enjoy their time during practise and performance. His loud voice just reassures everyone else of his presence and shows the assertiveness of him.
His strong belief of friendship is very obvious, for example, with Kiyama. He would do almost anything for the safety and happiness of his friends. However, he likes picking little fights with them, constantly teasing them and splashing water on them when they're in the public bath after practise!
His favourite food? Definitely the omelette rice personally made by his mom!
History: Unfortunately, he did not have a very memorable and happy childhood due to the absence of his dad. His mom also had to work frequently to run the family and so he spent most time out with other children in the neighbourhood. This is where he would sometimes get bullied by others, pushing him around teasing him that he did not have a dad. This was what led to him in being a good fighter. He would secretly practise self defence moves at home when watching television because he doesnt want to be picked on anymore.
When in junior high and the first two years of high school, he would just pick fights everywhere with gangs in nearby schools. He would not lose any due to the important presence of his gang members ryousuke and nippori =)
Almost everyone was scared of him except for those two because they were the only ones who knew the true, kind side of him.
