A lot of this has been adapted from the previous Kaneko's application here. I think this is done besides the pic... I'll upload one when I get the time!

NAME: Kaneko Atsushi ( 金子敦 )
CANON OR ORIGINAL CHARACTER? Canon
AGE/YEAR IN SCHOOL: 18/Third-Year
GENDER: Male
COUNTRY: Japan
PROFESSION: Student
GROUP: Karasumori High, Karasumori Boys Tumbling Team
PLAY-BY: Tamoto Soranappearance
Kaneko is instantly recognizable by a buzz cut and a thin pair of glasses he wears even when tumbling. He's on the short side for a boy his age at 169cm. Not known for his fashion sense, most of his clothes are plain and fit a little too well, every shirt tucked and every button buttoned.personality
At first sight, Kaneko seems non-descript. Intellectual, very polite and typically quiet, he's not too far from the "school nerd" archetype. He's a star student, his fortes being in math and science. The type to gorge himself in books and browsing Internet sites for fun, he's a fountain of trivia, a point he's proud of. It usually slips his mind that a lot of his knowledge is theoretical rather than experiential, and there is a lot in life that he's very naive about. Besides his grades, Kaneko feels that there's nothing all that special about himself, and is a bit insecure because of it. Still, one of his biggest desires is for those around him to respect him, especially when he feels like the recognition is deserved.
That's not to say everything about Kaneko is low-key. He's a stickler for the rules and has fine attention to detail. This can be a good thing; he's got a blunt honesty and willingness to point things out others can't (or won't) that can be an asset, especially in fields like rhythmic gymnastics. However, it's something that often grates at or offends those around him -- something he may or may not be sensitive to, especially if he feels like the person "needs to be taught". Though usually shy, Kaneko won't hestitate to argue with or pick at someone particularly if he feels comfortable enough to do so. Between his looks and the silly, sarcastic tone he often takes, it can be tough for others to take him seriously. Add that to the fact that he's easily excitable and well... Kaneko's a hoot.
Despite his critical nature, he's a big softy at heart. There isn't anything he values more than his family and friends, and does his best to make them proud. He can be very trusting of other people... almost too trusting. Meanwhile, though he's not all that guarded, he doesn't talk about his personal feelings so much.
Between his studies and gymnastics practice, Kaneko doesn't have that much free time for external persuits... but his other interests include pop music, anime and computers. He's also kind of a picky eater.family & history
Father: Masaki, accountant for an import/export company
Mother: Chisato, housewife
Siblings: Jun (older brother of 2 years - attends university, on the basketball team)
Others: a small white cat called Pero
As far as Kaneko's concerned, there's nothing spectacular about his family... but that's okay. He loves them dearly! They're a relatively well-off unit for the area, though they live pretty modestly. There are things that annoy him about his folks, and things that he does that annoy them, but he figures that's just normal. His dad is laid-back, and the average salaryman type. His mother takes care of the home -- she's a bit fussy (Kaneko probably inherited his pickiness from her), and doting (in the embarrassing way) but she always means well. Jun, his older brother, was always the atheletic type with many talents. Atsushi looks up to him with a mixture of admiration, pride, and a tiny bit of jealousy. They're rounded out by Pero, a... tempermental cat they took in. Overall, though they might quarrel, the Kaneko family is a close-knit one.
A certain particularly nimble childhood friend picqued Kaneko's interest in acrobatics at an early age. Since then, he's become more and more involved in the sport of gymnastics. Physically, he was never all that good at it, though he would always practice his best and studied as much as he could about its regulations, techniques, and history. At first, the Kanekos thought gymnastics was a strange choice for a hobby, but after seeing the youngest son's enthusiam for the sport, they've come to support him. Kaneko does his best to make his family proud of him.
After practicing artistic gymnastics in middle school, a boy named Takenaka Yuuta scouted him out shortly after he started high school, and he eventually agreed to help him start a team for rhythmic gymnastics. Though it wasn't quite the same, Kaneko found a passion in his new sport and became close friends with his other teammates.
Now that he's a third-year in high school, Kaneko is looking to the future. In many ways, he knows that a big part of his life is coming to an end, so he's determined to make the most of the last days of his youth. At the same time, he's preparing himself for his next step. He realizes that he's not talented enough to get a sports scholarship for college, so he's been looking for another way to stay involved with the gymnastics he's come to love after he graduates...other
