OOC: She's in her school uni.
Why did she do that?
Uchida Kaoru found her mind going in circles as she sat in the chilly hospital lobby. It had gotten pretty cold in the last few weeks, but she made sure to sit by the door so she would be seen. The nippy late afternoon air rushed in with every person that entered and exited the building, Nervously, she toyed with the fringe of her scarf as she waited.
Why was she there? Kaoru only had a weak grasp of that, as well. She'd only really understand once she headed upstairs, she guessed. But she wasn't ready to do that yet.
Her eyes strayed to the little table beside her chair. On top of a few interior decorating magazines were her phone and a crumpled scrap of paper that she'd tried her best to smooth out again. Under the slightly faded scrabbled digits that had originally been on it:
...in her pen. She sighed. At the time she wrote it, she'd genuinely been worried that something might happen, and that the one-time blonde would most definitely be the perpetrator. Maybe some who would find her would find that note and... hey, it seemed like a good idea at the time. She was so sure of it!
So, why did she do that?
She'd never thought about saying the things people want to hear as a bad thing. She'd never thought about not talking about her problems being a bad thing. It was just easier. She got along with people better that way.
Airing family secrets to her normal group... that doesn't wouldn't fly. But that guy... Tsukimori Ryosuke, he'd told her time and time again that he wanted to "understand". Maybe if she gave him the opportunity to, he'd finally get off her case. And if what he was saying was really right... them maybe this would help her, rather than blow up in her face. And if it did, she was talking about the yankee; it wasn't like she held their relationship in any kind of esteem. And if something went wrong... they would be in a hospital, a very public place. Doctors were around, her mom was there... this should be safe.
She had nothing to lose this way, right?
It seemed right, with the timing... just a few weeks after the delinquent had come to her front and started spouting a bunch of crap she couldn't stop thinking about...
Nonetheless, Kaoru found herself still tugging away at the fringe of her scarf. No matter how many times she thought about it, there was absolutely no way she could accept that she'd messaged that yankee saying that he should meet her at the hospital as soon as possible. That was just... really really dumb.
That had to be because it was dumb. It really was. That decided it, she was leaving. In a huff, snatched her phone and the paper off of the table and jumped out of her chair.
Head bowed, she was much too busy trying to get her schoolbag open to notice where she was going, or that she was running right into someone headed in her direction.
