ooc: Great posts, guys! And don't feel bad, Yuuta, your post wasn't short at all! I thought it was really characteristic of Yuuta, so I was actually laughing when I was reading it! And of course, everyone's doing a nice job! But poor Hino...he didn't have to leave!!
The fight between Ryosuke and Hino waged on, despite Mizusawa's attempt to quell them. This was getting really out of hand. He was tempted to just get between the two and tell them to stop all of this, but it just wasn't like him to do something like that. Thinking something was much easier than actually doing it.
“Why should I help any of you, when you have never helped me?”
Mizusawa heard Hino's words and bit his lip, looking down at the ground. Hino was right. None of them had ever really helped him, had they? Granted, that was mostly because Hino had to be one of the most unapproachable guys he knew. And for people as open as Wataru and Ryosuke and Nippori, it was probably really difficult to understand him. But Mizusawa...he wasn't too different from Hino, right? After all, they were both pretty dedicated to the team.
He sighed. Now he was feeling crappier than before. Hino was attacking Ryosuke about this, but maybe the one he should have been attacking was Mizusawa.
As these pessimistic thoughts were running through his head, he missed what was still happening between the two. But just as suddenly, a familiar voice cut in.
"Ahh everyone, sorry I'm late!" Yuuta ran towards the quartet, panting.
As if right on time, Yuuta appeared, jogging over to them. Mizusawa sighed in relief. Yuuta was here now, so hopefully everyone would settle down and they could get started. He was glad to have their team captain around--he didn't like bossing the others around very much, but at least it was Yuuta's job to do that. He looked over at Hino and saw that the other boy was looking relieved too.
He was about to give Yuuta a pained smile, when he realized Yuuta had noticed the fight going on between Ryosuke and Hino.
"Uhh, if this is about me being late then I'm really sorry. I'll make it up to you guys somehow," Yuuta pleaded.
There was a moment's pause, in which Mizusawa looked between the three of them.
Ryosuke was saying something else to Hino now, and walking away, but Mizusawa hadn't caught what it was. Well...at least it was over. And Yuuta was already setting down his bag and getting ready to practice. Mizusawa felt himself loosen up a little.
"Ok, let's all get some stretches down before we start with any routine. I have an idea of what we could do today but I don't want any accidents before we can even start. We can at least do that before the rest arrive although I'm really hoping they have a better reason for being later than me."
Right to the point, as usual. That was Yuuta. Mizusawa actually felt his mouth break into a semi-smile. He was feeling so much more relieved now. Even though the atmosphere between Ryosuke and Hino still seemed extremely tense, at least they were just going to start practice. Surely Hino and Ryosuke would forget all about the fight if they just got to stretching.
Mizusawa helped his friend set out the mats, then stood beside them, waiting for the others to take their places. Since he'd already stretched, he figured he could just stand by and help out anyone who needed it.
"Come on, just sit on the mats and do the stretches."
From nearby, Ryosuke's voice rang out.
"Wataru showing up?" he decided to ask.
Meanwhile, Mizusawa watch as Kiyama wordlessly made his way over to one of the mats to begin stretching, an unreadable expression on his face. He wanted to ask the other boy if he needed any help, but decided against it. Kiyama would let him know if he wanted help, he was sure. That, and...Well, Kiyama had just seen that huge fight too. Mizusawa wondered what he'd thought about it?
And then, suddenly, Hino was speaking again, quietly, but audibly. Mizusawa could actually feel the sharpness of his words, which were directed at Ryosuke, but hinted at all of them.
“You call this dysfunction ‘teamwork’, let alone friendship” He turned to make his leave; this was suddenly the last place in the world he wanted to be. “I’ll tell you this much, if I ever chose to have friends…” He breathed a sigh of calm. “It certainly wouldn’t be anyone like you.”
Mizusawa's mouth fell open in shock, as he watched the other leaving. He was tempted to call out to Hino, to say something, but at the moment, words were failing him. He had no idea what could possibly bring Hino back. Especially if the last person Hino wanted to be with was anyone on this team. Heaving a heavy sigh, he looked over at Yuuta, to see if the team captain would try to stop the younger boy. Although he was sure that even Yuuta wouldn't be able to stop Hino, especially when his mind was already set.
As if on cue, Wataru had suddenly joined them. He saw the bigger guy trying to make Hino stay, but even he knew that wouldn't work. Hino liked Wataru the least, right? No way that was going to work.
As usual, Wataru was extremely hyper. But the atmosphere with the rest of the tumbling team sure didn't seem that way.
"oh man, why are we even meeting here? it's so cold!" *shivers and glares around*
"let's just take turns using the gym! it's so not fair." Wataru, being cold and annoyed by being pestered by two idiotic thugs on his way here is NOT HAPPY.
Mizusawa just stared at him for a moment before looking away.
"what's wrong?"
Another long silence, in which Mizusawa avoided looking at anyone else. Wataru and Yuuta had no idea what had just happened because they'd shown up later. But who would tell them what had just occurred? Mizusawa didn't want this to break the team up, and he knew that was exactly how it would be interpreted. So he kept his mouth shut.
Evidently, Wataru didn't much care what had happened.
"hehh.. anyways, lets get this started! We have to beat Washizu! That is our ultimate goal, isnt it? We're not going to losee!"
Then he turns to Hino, "i'm definitely not going to lose to you too!"
Mizusawa heaved another sigh. Yes, Wataru was just way too open. Hino was leaving already anyway, but the last thing he wanted the younger boy to hear was another comment that signified they were the last people he would ever make friends with. That comment from Hino, for whatever reason, had really stung. Mizusawa couldn't shake off those words.
"oi" says wataru to ryosuke. "Come on, don't be such a girl. Get over whatever your mad at. I'll just treat you to some omelette rice later ne?"
Man, this was getting out of hand. Wataru really didn't know what had just happened, did he? Ryosuke was already pissed though, so he had to be careful.
"Wataru!" Mizusawa suddenly blurted out. He hadn't been intending to talk, but he needed to somehow distract the Yankee before he continued to fuel Ryosuke's already blazing fire. "Uh..." He continued, trying to think of something to say. Great...He wasn't sure what he'd been planning, but he had to think of something.
"...Don't worry about that now, okay? Maybe you should just start stretching. I can help you if you need it."
He shot a concerned look at Ryosuke, wondering if the other Yankee would react to Wataru's words.
