Overall Personality
Reijirō is your typical teenager. He despises absolute authority, loves his freedom, and enjoys only his own company. To people who first meet him, Reijirō may seem intimidating and unapproachable, but that’s only because he doesn’t like to socialize often; he would much rather have his head buried in his PSP, enjoying the solitude. He has a few close friends, but that’s really it and even they know to give him his space. He tends to remain blasé about most things, making him seem very indifferent to the world around him, which he is. He doesn’t particularly like getting involved in unnecessary fighting and prefers to remain neutral when trouble arises; this why most people tend to like him, since he doesn’t invade in anyone else’s business. Taking sides means getting involved and he doesn’t want to have to deal with the drama and pressure that promises to come soon afterwards.
To the few close friends he has, Reijirō is an overall friendly guy. He loves to have fun and looks for an escape from his disheveled home life whenever he can. Reijirō can fit into many crowds because of his quietness; he doesn’t cause trouble for himself normally. Though, he belongs to the otakus. Reijirō enjoys anime and video games a lot. Working in an arcade only provokes his competitive nature. Because of his competitive nature and his indifference to other people’s problems, Reijirō tends to have more enemies than friends, but he doesn’t really mind/care. As long as he has someone to run to when he needs them, he’s all right. He’ll do whatever it takes to protect those he cares about.family & history

Arishima Zen, 26 year old cousin, cop.
Arishima Hana, 48 year old aunt, Hideo and Zen’s mother, businesswoman.
Reijirō was born to his mother Emi and his biological father Kenji. For eleven years, the three member family lived happily together, though Reijirō was always weary of his father for reasons he could not explain. His early years in schooling proved to be defining for him. He didn’t choose to become close with many of the other students and when the teachers became concerned, he waved them off. Reijirō always made the grade, so he never bothered with socializing since his father was strictly concerned about his grades. His mother was never very concerned, agreeing with her husband, and stating that it was only because he was quiet in nature; that there was absolutely nothing wrong with her darling son. Kenji, Reijirō’s biological father, always spoiled him when he was younger; hoping that he could fix whatever problem was between them two, even though he didn’t know what that problem was. It never worked, and Reijirō was still weary of his father, but never said “no” to the gifts he received. In this way, he became like his mother’s little prince and she spent many hours with him, raising him and loving him.
Then, at eleven years old, Reijirō learned that his father earned the rights to a not-so well known bar. Emi was never fond of the idea, saying that her husband would never have time for their son. Kenji accepted the offer anyway, which gained some distrust from his wife. About a month into owning the bar, Kenji became a wreck. He would come home every night drunk and angry because of the alcohol. He never physically abused Reijirō and his mother, but he did so verbally. Reijirō’s mother became much stronger because of this and decided that Kenji was not worth her and her son’s love; she filed a divorce. After owning the bar, Reijirō only became more suspicious of his father and even began to dislike him. Reijirō found out that Kenji had been indeed drinking heavily, even before the bar, and presently figures that this drinking was the reason he never trusted his father. A month later, Reijirō and his mother were officially separated from Kenji.
They began to live together in a small apartment, but Reijirō never minded. As long as he and his mother were safe, he didn’t care. Life was going a little better when they moved, but Reijirō’s grades had dropped a tad because of the sudden changes. By the middle school, Reijirō had improved, but his quietness had only worsened. Then, in his final year of the middle school, he met a few close friends and has since then began to lighten up. He still is friends with them presently in high school and they have become like family.
Then a year later, Emi met Arishima Satoshi, a pretty wealthy international tradesman. They fell in love and started dating. Reijirō liked Satoshi from the start. Three years later, they announced to Reijirō that they were to marry and he couldn’t have been happier for his mother. Currently, they lived in an upper-middle class home happily together. Reijirō is much closer to Satoshi than he ever was to Kenji, even taking on the man’s last name instead of his biological father’s; in fact, he never visits his biological father at all, refusing to be associated with a drunk. Because his mother and step-father are always out of the house—because they constantly travel due to their jobs—, Reijirō chooses to sometimes live with his aunt, Hana, and her sons instead of in an empty house. Though, mostly every summer, Reijirō travels with his parents, but as for the school year, well, his father is very adamant about not letting him miss it. Hideo owns a pretty successful arcade and employed his cousin because he knew he needed the extra cash. His aunt is like Reijirō’s second mother and he looks forward to a future with all of them.other
