Chiyo belongs to those kind of girls who prefer getting dirty while fighting with boys over doing some girly stuff like going shopping or running after the most admired boy of the school. In fact, as a result of mostly growing up with guys she doesn't really know how to deal with all this mushy stuff.
The young girl seems to be one of those happy-go-lucky people, always having a smile on her face. She doesn't like the people around her to be sad and always tries to encourage them – somtimes more, sometimes less successful. Additionally, Chiyo doesn't want others to notice when she feels down and always tries to cover how she really feels. In fact, this doesn't have a real reason, she just doesn't want to waste other people's time whining about things they most likely don't really care about.
Chiyo doesn't like to have any profound conversations, she prefers talking about simple everyday stuff. She is straightforward and often speaks without thinking. Sometimes she suddenly starts talking about something she is currently interested in, even if she has to interrupt someone else's conversation.
In class Chiyo is one of the silent people because she just can't concentrate for too long on what the teacher says. To be honest, she instantly stops listening to people if she gets bored – which happens quite often in class.
Moreover, Chiyo is kinda clumsy. She manages to find herself in some awkward situations over and over again. She doesn't really care about making a fool of herself but often her clumsiness is a huge hindrance to her. She really tries her best at tumbling but most of the time she is one of the last ones to manage their performance, either because she doesn't manage the steps or because she just doesn't remember their order.
Although she always tries to be nice and friendly to everyone, if she doesn't like anyone this person will immediately notice how she feels because Chiyo can be pretty bitchy.
The 16-year-old may not look like it but she sure knows how to fight – even though she sometimes overestimates her strength. She would prefer to get beaten up by a bunch of yankees over getting protected by someone else.
However, she doesn't like to fight. She just knows how to defend herself.family & history

Chiyo didn't have been through any kind of special childhood – apart from the fact that she always felt that they were more people at home than in kindergarten. While her father, a firefighter, hasn't been at home really often, her mother tried to fulfill her kids every wishes.
She was always on good terms with her brothers – and still is – although they often fighted. Her brothers never treated her like a girl what she is pretty thankful for because they taught her how to defend herself.
On the contrary, the relationship to her only sister wasn't that good. The two didn't exchange many words, they were just too diverse with Chiyo's sister going all crazy about tumbling – in Chiyo's eyes a total waste of time, she didn't see any sense in people hopping around.
Two years ago, when Chiyo was 14 years old, her sister died in a car accident. As a result Chiyo's mother, who couldn't bear with her daughter's death, had to be committed into a mental hospital where she still is.
Afterwards Chiyo started doing tumbling because she knew it was her sister's dream to come far with this type of sport …other
