NAME: Suzuki Keiko
CANON OR ORIGINAL CHARACTER? Original
AGE/YEAR IN SCHOOL: 18/3rd year
GENDER: Female
COUNTRY: Japan
PROFESSION: Student, part timer at the local library
GROUP: Karasumori High, Literary club
PLAY-BY: Fukuda Sakiappearance
Keiko is a little bit on the short side, 156cm, her one defining feature being her smile. Sometimes, when she's feeling lazy, she won't bother to style her hair and leaves it in a ponytail. She also wears a pair of thin glasses when either working or reading.personality
Keiko is more of a quiet person than anything else. Based off her home and school life, she learned to filter through the day as quietly as possible. Because of this, she usually likes to bury her nose in a good book to get away from the noise and fighting that goes on in the classroom. Only when people actually talk to her personally does she respond. When meeting new people, she's quick to shying away, more often than not making a bad impression. The only exception to this was when she met Kaneko Atsushi. But lately, she's been a bit hesitant to talk to her male friend, since delinquents joined his club.
At the start of her first year at Karasumori High, Keiko accidentally bumped into a group of delinquents, in the end getting on their bad side. Since then, she's been the topic of torment for the group, though, thankfully, it wasn't lead by Azuma Wataru, who she heard was the last person anyone wanted to mess with. After months of getting picked on, on numerous occasions her shoes went missing, her desk was ruined with paint and knife marks, even cigarette burns, she had enough, finding the group in the act. It was the first time she ever punched anyone, even though she was soon overwhelmed by the amount of Yankees. Thankfully, a teacher had been nearby to break up the fight.
When not keeping to herself, Keiko can be found in the library, whether it be for her literary club or for work. She hopes to become the next Murakami Haruki, her first big novel idea already written in tiny notes all around her room. Sometimes, while reading a stray book during work, or even while listening to music, she will get inspired and quickly write down the idea in her personal notebook.
One thing she definitely hates, besides delinquents, noise and fighting, is her sisters going through her things. On more than one occasion she would find something of hers missing, whether it be a pen, notebook, or even a CD. As of late, she's had to hide her measly weekly income so she could buy her own ipod, something her sisters manage to get before her.
Keiko isn't one to get mad easily, but once she gets mad, she's mad.family & history
Father: Suzuki Satoru (45)
Mother: Suzuki Sayuri (38)
Siblings: Hashimoto Aya (20, sister), Suzuki Yui (15, sister), Hashimoto Riku (1, nephew)
Others: Keiko has a decent sized family, though most of those on her father's side are either dead or live far away. They have one pet, a cat named Miu-chan. He's a Russian blue cat. Yui insisted on calling him Miu-chan.
Keiko is the middle child of three. Her older sister, Aya, quickly married her high school sweetheart, Hashimoto Junpei, once they graduated. They remained at the Suzuki household, forcing Keiko to share a room not only with her sisters, but also with her brother-in-law. It was short lived, her brother-in-law's life ending quickly during a freak accident at work. By then, her sister was a few months pregnant with her son, Riku. Once Riku came into the world, her older sister started working late nights, trying to help the family's financial situation, leaving her sisters and mother to look after her son.
Keiko, realizing the only way to get out of watching her nephew, would be to get a job herself, and desperately tried and acquired a part time job at the local library. She was diligent in her work, never making a mistake, and the librarians soon learned to adore her, letting her stay past her allotted "work time" to she could study in the quiet atmosphere.
Her little sister, Yui, is a bit of a brat, always demanding attention while Keiko shies from it. At the arrival of Riku, Yui has seemed to calm down, entertaining their nephew when their mother can't.
At the beginning of her 3rd year, Keiko met Kaneko Atsushi while studying late one night at the library. She was trying to carry one too many books and tripped. Kaneko was the only one nearby. She tried waving him off, his sudden appearance leaving her off balance, but at his insistence, she let him help her pick up her books. While they were setting them down on her table, Kaneko was the one who noticed her bag, asking if she was a student at Karasumori High, and while they weren't in the same class, Keiko was in 3-C, they quickly bonded. Kaneko didn't laugh at her idol, nor at her novel idea, and in respect, she didn't make fun of his club. In fact, she barely knew a Boys' Rhythmic Gymnastics team even existed. She knew a few girls in her class were in a gymnastics team, but never thought to check it out.
At the boys' first performance, she was in the audience, cheering on Kaneko's name from the stands. She was a bit surprised at the appearance of a Yankee on the team, and since then, has been more than afraid for her friend. Yankees were dangerous, she knew from experience.other
