Name: Mizusawa Taku
Age/Year in School: Third Year
Gender: Male
Profession: Student
Group: Karasumori High School Male Tumbling Team
Appearance:
Personality: Taku is average in many ways, though perhaps a bit more sentimental than most guys. He is fairly quiet around those he doesn't know well, and particularly when in the presence of the yankees. This is mostly because he'd prefer to avoid a fight rather than ever get involved in one.
As a member of the Karasumori Tumbling team, he is extremely devoted to his work and to his team mates. He is also very talented at particular aspects of tumbling, including the deer stand. Often times, his mind is focused on the sport, and it's very difficult to get him to think about much else, considering he sees Tumbling as a huge part of his life. That being said, this does not affect his classroom performance. Taku is actually quite smart, which reflects in his grades.
As a friend, he is also very devoted. He makes a good friend simply because he is compassionate, understanding, and accepting of people's differences, something that has to do a lot with secrets of his own.
All this being said, Taku, in regards to his feelings, does not take criticism very well. While he can take some criticism with tumbling, in order to improve his performance, it is simply more difficult for him to hear criticism in regards to who he is as a person. This may also be due to the fact that he is a fairly emotional person.
History: There isn't much to Taku's history. He grew up much like any other kid in this part of Japan. Strolling through the streets looking for something fun to do, playing in the sand on the beach, going to the arcade (which was fun before it became a famous yankee hangout--later on he just got his own video game systems and invited friends to play at his house). He also used to very much enjoy reading.
But while all of these were things he did when he was bored, his main hobby had always been tumbling. He'd first seen it by chance on TV, watching the international-level competition with his family. He'd been eight years old at the time. Actually, his father had wanted to change the channel out of boredom, but his mother was the one who insisted they just keep it on to see what happened. And then, the Japanese Tumbling team had come in first place, of all the other teams in the world.
That was what had inspired him. Though he continued to study hard in school and maintain good grades, Taku spent the rest of his time devoting himself to Tumbling--going to the library to read more about it, learning mostly everything about the stances and forms all on his own.
In the present, as a high school student, he is in his final year of high school, and his biggest goal is to participate in group tumbling. Which is why any threat of the Karasumori male tumbling team being disbanded is a big threat. While he's not sure what to make of the yankee who has decided to join their team, other feelings have also popped up deep down within him, for someone he has only just come to know. But at the moment, he's not quite ready to share those feelings...
