Rules
Yes yes...I understand. No one likes them.
However, they are necessary for the smooth
running of a board.
One secret phrase. Please make sure to look for it...
(It's a bit random. )
General
1. Please use the cbox to talk out of character. That is not a place to remain in-character, but rather to get-to-know those you are roleplaying with!
2. Please do not fight with or harass other members, especially publicly. If you have something you need to say, take it to the PMs. Members should feel comfortable enough to come to an admin if they are having trouble with another member, and those who are doing the harassment will be either warned or banned. Please just remember to respect one another!
3. For now, members are only allowed to create up to 4 characters! Please also make sure to create separate accounts for each character. You are welcome to message me privately if you would like additional characters, but you must demonstrate sufficient activity with your current four first!
4. Please, no more than 2 canons per member! Eventually this rule may be changed, but for now, only 2. The reason for this rule is to encourage new members to join! Everyone wants to feel a part of the central plot, so if all of the canons are taken by the same people before a new member can nab them, it doesn't leave new members with much choice! Of course, once again, you are welcome to talk to me about this if you really want to play a particular canon, but essentially canons are here for new members to have a main role in the plot.
5. Please read the rules and plot thorough, and also consider reading the How to Play if you are unsure of what to do. (The How to Play highlights how to join or form your own tumbling team or gang!)
6. Please do not start roleplaying unless your character has already been accepted!
Account
1. You may sign up with whatever username you prefer, but please remember to change your Display Name to the name of your character once you have been accepted.
2. Make sure the Display Name for your account is your character's full name, preferably last name and then first (e.g. "Smith John" rather than "John Smith").
3. Please use an avatar image of a real person, not an animated character. You may claim a celebrity by signing up for that celebrity in the Face Claim thread.
4. Avatars of 100x100 are preferable, and signatures are fine as long as they don't stretch out the board width. Please make sure both avatar and signature are relevant to your character!
Roleplaying
1. There is no limit to how little or how much you should write, but please be sure to give your writing partner enough to work with! (Otherwise, why would they want to RP with you?)
2. Also, please do not write in chat-speak (ex: u, r, cuz, etc). It just won't be tolerated.
3. You are allowed to write any rating (aka G to NC-17), so long as all posts that are rated PG-13 or more have a warning in the thread title.
4. Do not plagiarize!
5. There is no god-modding on this site. You cannot kill another character, nor perform an action or thought for them without their permission.
6. Do not make your character "God-like". You cannot claim that he or she is popular with all the kids at school, if indeed that is not the case. You need to make friendships on your own on this site, and it is very unlikely that one student is going to be friends with everyone--particularly with the rivalries between school gangs and whatnot. Also, do not create a character who excels at everything he or she does. (Codeword: Pineapple) People are human, and everyone has flaws. Instead of pretending your character DOESN'T have flaws, use them to shape the personality of your character and to make them more individual and interesting. A "perfect" character would just be boring and unrealistic.
7. And in addition, please try to keep your characters "normal." It's okay if you want your character to have one parent because the other was killed, but oftentimes this becomes the norm for characters on a roleplaying site. We'll accept most characters at first, but eventually if too many people start to fit the "I lost both parents" or "I'm emo but magically friends with everyone" stereotypes, we're going to have to start denying applications.
Other
1. There is a codeword somewhere in the rules that you must include in your character application. Please do not forget it!
2. No fighting and no harassing in the C-box!
3. If you spam in the C-box, you will be warned. A third time results in a ban from the C-box.
4. If you want to take something from this site, please ask first!
5. And most importantly, have fun!
THESE CAN BE ADDED TO AND CHANGED AT ANYTIME. AN ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE MADE AND AN ATERISK (*) WILL BE BESIDE ANY NEW RULES FOR A MONTH. THANK YOU!
