Aoi was really embarassed.
She knew she was tired.
She knew she was hungry.
But she wanted to check their routine.
She didn't expect all those people showing up.
And so she forgot about her hunger.
But now it seemed her stomach was tired of "keeping quiet".
Aoi wanted to disappear!
“How about we try the new routine tomorrow and go out eat something for now …?!“, Chiyo suggested looking at Aoi, then at Mari and Nanako.
That was... unexpected.
A night out with the girls?
Well, it could be fun.
And considering all the sounds coming from her belly, Aoi was sure her stomach was showing its appreciation for the idea.
"Soo~ ... Let's go eat ramen, girls!" Chiyo said, smiling at everybody.
At the word "ramen", Aoi's stomach growled again.
"I got it, I got it, shut up" she whispered down.
"Ramen sounds really great right now Chiyo!" Aoi said, standing up, but still pressing her hands on her belly.
Aoi noticed Mari walking towards that Nanako girl.
She was a bit surprised when she saw how Mari was acting so stubbornly with the yankee.
But that was Mari.
She never got a "no" as an answer.
And apparently even that yankee couldn't resist to her friend either.
Aoi didn't really mind if that girl joined them.
She just hoped they wouldn't get into troubles.
Don't get her wrong, Aoi didn't really hate yankees.
But after all the troubles that people like Nanako or Azuma caused in her past, she wasn't keen about being so friendly with them.
Although Aoi realized Azuma was starting to change, even if he just recently joined the men's team.
Maybe Nanako would change as well in the future...?
Looking at how badly she wanted to leave, Aoi doubted it.
But still...
“Don’t. Look, I won’t go, okay? Let’s face it, no one except you wants me there anyway. And I doubt Suzuki wants me there either,” Nanako said
Aoi had been so lost in her thoughts that she looked up only when she heard Nanako raise her voice.
So those two already met?
Suzuki was the name of the girl sitting on the bench, right?
And apparently that girl wanted to get away from this situation as much as the yankee.
“No, wait!” Mari hurried forward, grabbing onto her arm just as she’d only taken a few steps. She looked from Nanako back to Suzuki. “You’re both going,” she decided.
Aoi looked at Chiyo, knowing perfectly well that she'd be on Mari's side with this.
Aoi sighed.
"Okay listen... I don't know why you girls already know each other, I don't know much about what's going on... All I know is that I need to eat something badly..."
She moved towards the stereo and unplugged it, removing the CD and putting it in her bag.
"I don't know you two..." Aoi said, looking first at Suzuki then at Nanako "But I have to agree with Chiyo and Mari... this is a good idea... This could be a way to... know each other better...?" Aoi said looking at Mari.
She knew that her friend wanted to be sure people would never be left alone and that there could always be a friendly atmosphere.
So for her friend (and her costant grumbling stomach), Aoi decided to take this step.
If, in the end, Nanako and Suzuki decided to leave no matter how hard Mari and Chiyo insisted, Aoi could say at least she tried.
Aoi turned towards Chiyo.
"Ramen right?" she said smiling.
"We can go to that shop were we ate last time with the whole team after that competition, food was great there, ne?"
Aoi grabbed the stereo, leaving it on one of the corner of the gym.
"Lets go!" she said picking up her bag and walking towards the door of the gym.
"I didn't expect this to turn into a 'girls only' night. It can be fun! We might even go to karaoke later!" she said, winking at Chiyo.
Aoi knew the other girl would support her idea.
