Nippori looked at the doorbell with a raised eyebrow for a moment longer. He wondered who the hell had picked that one, and what was wrong with just a normal ding-dong sound? The tune that had played was…different, he would give it that much. But he could already guess that Ryosuke hated it. Hell, if he lived in a house with that doorbell going off god-knows-how-many-times a day he would probably end up ripping it off the wall or something, …and all of these thoughts came after only hearing the thing once.
“Hey you two!” The familiar voice of their team captain snapped him out of his thoughts about the Doorbell of Doom, and he turned to look back over his shoulder, raising a hand in a slight wave. “Yo.” He wondered how many of them had shown up already, and if they were the last there or not. Well…probably not, because he couldn’t see Yuuta being a person that liked being late.
“Have you rang the doorbell yet?” Yuuta asked, and Nippori had opened his mouth to say yes, but apparently the older boy wasn’t waiting on an answer. As the Doorbell of Doom rang for a second time within a minute or two, Nippori pulled a face as he stared at it again. Yeah…he couldn’t live in a house with a doorbell like that. Ever.
Not even a moment later, the front door had been opened, and there stood Ryosuke, arms folded and leaning against the doorframe. “Okay. Now before you come inside…who rang it?” he asked, not…looking very amused.
Yup…he hates the doorbell…
Honestly, Nippori couldn’t blame him for being annoyed at the doorbell ringing twice, considering he must hear it often enough as it was. Still, he wasn’t about to say anything about who pressed it either, considering he was one of them. He cast a grin at his blond-haired friend, feeling that perhaps it looked just a little sheepish, but maybe he was just being paranoid.
“Not even a ‘hello’?” he said, as he and Wataru walked past Ryosuke into the house. Taking off his shoes, Nippori cast a look around the inside of the hallway. It looked so…nice, and it made him feel a little self-conscious. Shaking his head, he told himself that he was being ridiculous.
((ooc - it’s short and it fails, but oh well. It gets the job done lol we only wanted to get them in the door anyway~ XD god-played Wataru a bit too, to get them inside the door…hope that’s alright.))

ooc: very short, just to get Yuuta inside as well xD
----
When finally the door was opened, a sour looking Ryosuke stood in the frame, crossing his arms. "Okay. Now before you come inside....who rang it?"
Okay, Yuuta was as good as dead. Apparently the blonde yankee didn’t exactly enjoy the tune of this interesting doorbell and apparently Wataru and Nippori had been ringing the bell already.
Yuuta was trying to avoid Ryosuke’s glare as for he had seen him semi-strangle Kaneko several times and even though the yankee seemed to have some kind of respect for the team captain… when it came to this bell he wasn’t too sure if that would still be the case. He wasn’t exactly scared but he also didn’t wanna get on Ryosuke’s bad side. He was a yankee after all. Plus he would have to stay with him under one roof tonight and he really didn’t like to be killed in his sleep or something.
Luckily Nippori saved him from anything by just ignoring the question and firing a question of his own back at his friend before he and Wataru were entering the house. Yuuta sighed and smiled relived. At least this hadn’t started with a fiasco. On the other hand, the bell itself…
“Hi, Ryosuke!,” he greeted and also entered the house where he put off his shoes and set down his backpack to get out the little bag with onigiri. “Here, thank you for the hospitality.” He smiled at the yankee, still feeling bad about the bell-incident. Looking around everything was really expensive looking and very clean. Yuuta was impressed. He noticed a staple of shoes in the hallway and now he also clearly heard a TV in some distance.
“Is everyone there already?” He cast a slightly panicked look at his watch but saw the he was just as punctual as expected.

[OOC: Hey guys, we have to write Hino out, regrettably, and also, do we wanna get moving with the games??? Hurry up and get here, Kiyama and Kaneko!!!]
Ryosuke just stood in the doorframe for a moment, studying the three guys' faces, when Nippori spoke up, an amused smirk crossing his face.
“Not even a ‘hello’?” Ryosuke's two best friends allowed themselves into his house without a second thought, and Ryosuke just waved his hand, sighing.
"Ah whatever. As long as you know I didn't choose it...."[/i] He glanced over at Yuuta, who was looking slightly fidgety. Ryosuke raised an eyebrow of his own. Hysteric Yuuta was hysteric. But he wasn't entirely sure why--he apprciated Mr. Hysteria quite a bit, and he didn't think he'd done anything recently to warrant the guy's evident worries. Had Kiyama said something? Ryosuke opened his mouth to tell Yuuta to lighten up and have fun, when the other spoke up before he had a chance.
“Hi, Ryosuke!" His classmate stepped into the home and quickly pulled out what Ryosuke found out moments later was a freshly-made onigiri. “Here, thank you for the hospitality.”
Ryosuke accepted the gift with a small thank-you. That was nice of Yuuta. He hoped this wasn't some kind of peace offering and really was just a thank you gift. Either way, he wouldn't complain. He wasn't feeling all that hungry, but it did look delicious. Maybe Naomi would want it, since she was planning on stopping by their party group later on.
“Is everyone there already?” came Yuuta's voice once more. He was glancing at his watch now. Typical Yuuta.
Ryosuke shook his head, standing behind the others and waiting patiently for them to remove their shoes and step inside the main area of the home. There were two more left to show up--Kaneko and Kiyama--and he was beginning to think the latter might not bother after all. In fact, thinking about the other Yankee, Ryosuke wondered if the guy wasn't another reason why he'd had any anxieties about hosting the party. Truth be told, he'd wanted to do it, he was excited for it.....maybe Kiyama was the one thing making him leery.
"I guess they'll show up if they want to," Ryosuke finally added, shrugging. "I'm not complaining if Kaneko's not coming around to bitch me out for not stretching while watching TV or something. Just kidding, just kidding, you guys take a seat. Drop your stuff anywhere where it won't make my parents hate me more than they already do."
Ryosuke stepped back into the main area and dropped down on the floor in front of Satoshi's seat. The Tumbling routine on TV was still going, and he watched only sub-consciously as the guys on the screen pulled off tricks he'd like--but wasn't sure he'd be able--to pull off. It was probably a good idea for them to consider what new performances they could try for the upcoming competitions, but truth be told, he felt like making this a lazy night over a super-productive one. Now that he thought about it, he wondered if maybe they could watch some horror movies together too, scare themselves. There was a whole channel that had movies you could purchase directly from the TV.
Ryosuke took his eyes off the TV screen to look at his friends and classmates. Despite things that had happened recently between him and Kiyama, he was feeling pretty good, and he was still holding Yuuta's onigiri. He tossed it up and down in his hands absentmindedly while looking at the others. "So do you guys have anything you want to do? Games, movies, whatever? We've got food, too, so no worries there."
He gestured to the table littered with all their snacks, then set the onigiri down there, where it blended in perfectly. He decided not to tell them that Naomi had insisted on joining them at one point. Even he didn't know what for....
[OOC: Hehe. *rubs hands together evilly* I do think Naomi will be the dictator for "Twister." IE: She gets to spin the board thingy and call out the colors and basically enjoy everything. XD And then...we have CJ's List. MWAHAHAHAHA! *sadistic*

ooc: OK, so word of warning to everyone. I know I suck at roleplaying a character like Hino. I just suck at it. So I apologize to all Hino/Nissy/this-type-of-character lovers, because I am royally going to botch it up. But we just need to get him to leave, so I figured that's my job. I'm so sorry, guys. XD ic: Even as the room was getting more crowded with people now, Hino had fully convinced himself that he wanted to be here. This kind of thing was rare for him, but surely it didn't hurt to try at least once. And after this, he could find out for sure whether or not he liked the ideas of sleepovers for himself. Granted, this one was taking place at a Yankee's house, so it might not be ideal, but he figured he could make that sort of assessment on his own and based on what would happen. He'd taken a seat down now, beside Mizusawa, watching blankly what was on the TV screen. In all reality, he was lost in thought, unable to contain--even with himself--some level of excitement. He figured Mizusawa was probably wondering how he felt, considering he rarely showed that sort of emotion around the others, but his senpai would know soon enough. He was going to enjoy his time here, just to show his father how much it meant to him. And as if on cue, that was when it happened. His phone ringing. He didn't bother giving a hello to the newcomers in the house, just pulled his phone out, checking the front to see what number had called. He paled. Otousan... Why? Why was his dad calling now? Hadn't his mother insisted that he go, that she would convince his father that he had to be here, to do this? So...why was he getting a phone call now before the event had even started? Flipping open the phone, and feeling slightly nervous, he pressed an ear to it hesitantly. "Hello?" His dad's gruff voice filled his ear drum. "Tetsuya, you're coming home. Now. Your mother told me where you are, and I'm already on my way. Be waiting for me outside."By the sound of his voice, the man was mad. Clearly his mother had either given in to his father's demands, or she had quickly lost the battle for him to stay here. Whatever the case, he was not going to be participating in this sleepover tonight. His heart suddenly filling with regret, he opened his mouth to speak, trying to keep his voice soft so that the attention would not be on him. He knew Mizusawa was already listening in anyway. "But, father, I--" "No buts. I'm already on my way, and I'd prefer you're outside so that I don't have to barge in there and drag you out, got it? You've got practices to do, you don't have time to go to a sleepover! I'll take you to go practice with your brother in the town recreation hall, you can--""Father!" Hino jumped in again, his voice more pleading now, a little louder than before. So what if the others heard in? Why had he cared only a moment before? He had to leave now because his father was being stubborn. That wasn't fair at all! "I can practice any day, this isn't going to happen all the time, and I really want to have fun--" "Have fun?! How is there any time for fun with Nationals coming up? This is the end of this conversation, young man. Be outside in ten minutes."And then the phone hung up. Hino just sat there, still staring blankly at the TV, his phone pressed to his ear. He sat like that for a moment, unsure of what to do, wondering if it was rude to just get up and leave after inviting himself in. Although that was the least of his concerns. His more selfish desire to just stay here, to be a part of whatever was going to happen...that was much stronger than his concerns of "what was proper." And yet, he knew he had no choice. He had to go. Flipping his phone shut, he resolutely pushed it back into his bag, then stood up to begin grabbing all his things. "What are you doing?" He heard Mizusawa's concerned voice from behind him now, clearly watching him pack up his stuff, but he didn't answer, not right away. The truth was, he didn't want to have to admit he'd been hoping to stay here. He didn't want them to pity him, that his father wanted him to work rather than play. But he also didn't want to leave. Those were all just unchangeable facts. Sighing, he steeled himself, preparing for all eyes to be on him, at a time when he'd rather go stand in a corner and be ignored. "I'm leaving, everyone." There was some silence in the room, with the exception of the TV still blaring. "I have to go," he added quietly, giving Mizusawa another look, one that was a little more regretful than the other. "Bye." And with that, he shuffled past the boys gathered near the door, not waiting for Tsukimori to ask him going on, not waiting for anything except his father to pull up in their family sports car. Which he did, only a few minutes later, whisking Hino away to some stupid recreational center, away from the fun and games that were to be had by his entire group of friends...minus him. ooc: Hino is gooooooone....

ooc: Lee, I had to write it like this, just to make the guys keep walking. I also added about them watching Hino leave at the end. I hope it's enough to let you work on something. You'll probably have to godplay Kaneko to make them get in front of the house and/or even get inside, so feel free to do so. ic: Kaneko's attention was so focused on the fantastic view above them that he almost missed what Kiyama said. "Yeah... it is."Kaneko nodded. He thought it would actually be a waste to spend such a great night inside, but they were going to have fun anyway... At least he hoped so. It was the first time the whole new Tumbling team would do something like that. Sure he went to sleepovers before, but he had the feeling this one was going to be different. Especially because of Wataru and the others. "What are we doing?"Kaneko turned around to look at Kiyama. "Huh?" "At the sleepover, I meant. What are we doing? I've... never been to one."True to be told, his team mate looked like he was a bit uncomfortable with this situation. "Oh really?" Kaneko thought about it for a moment. What were they going to do? "Hmmm... I haven't been to a sleepover with so many people before, but I guess it's like a normal one" Kaneko said. "We'll probably watch DVDs, maybe movies? And... oh there might be some good stuff to eat! And we might also play games!" Kaneko smiled at the other. But then a thought crossed his mind: if Kiyama was already feeling uncomfortable and they weren't yet there, how would he feel when the 'party' would actually start? "I'm... I'm sure we'll probably just watch lots of things" He said, trying to make the other feel better. "At least I hope Ryosuke doesn't come up with 'weird' movies..." Kaneko added, shaking a bit to ease his mind. Kaneko checked his directions again as they kept walking. When they turned another corner, Kaneko said: "Here it is, at the end of the street". They had almost reached Ryosuke's house when Kaneko suddenly stopped. "I'm... I'm sorry to say this... I hope you won't take it in the wrong way..." he started saying, adjusting his bag. "It's just that... It feels like you don't really want... to do this... The sleepover I mean..." He paused for a moment. He could actually understand why Kiyama would feel that way. But now he was part of the team, he was a friend and he wanted to make sure the other would be okay. "But... we are going to have fun! We might not do anything special, but we can still spend some time relaxing with each other... I think it's a good thing... For the team... For each of us..." He looked at the other with a determinate gaze. This was a sleepover. It was meant to be fun. It was meant to be enjoyed. And he'd made sure Kiyama wouldn't feel left out. ... Besides, Kaneko definitely needed someone to help him out with Nippori. Otherwise there was no way he'd survive the night. Right when it seemed that Kiyama was going to say something they noticed a car reaching Ryosuke's house and Hino coming out of the house and getting inside the car. Wait. What was going on? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ooc: sorry, it's short and it's cr*p Let me know if I have to change something.

A few paces went by before Kiyama got an answer; a bemused sounding, "Oh really?"
The yankee made a face at Kaneko's response. Was it an uncommon thing? He didn't want to dwell on it.
But the other boy didn't continued speaking, and Kiyama listened as attentively as he could. "Hmmm... I haven't been to a sleepover with so many people before, but I guess it's like a normal one. We'll probably watch DVDs, maybe movies? And... oh there might be some good stuff to eat! And we might also play games!"
Games? What kind of games? Sporty games? Video games? Party games? Games were supposed to be fun, but there were all kinds of games in the world. For some reason he got the feeling that they'd be playing the worst games ever. The worst. Kiyama shuddered.
And Kaneko continued. "I'm... I'm sure we'll probably just watch lots of things. At least I hope Ryosuke doesn't come up with 'weird' movies..."
What did "weird" mean? There could be all kinds of interpretations of that word, too. Kiyama didn't like it. He trusted Tsukimori in many ways, but not to be... not weird. Kiyama did not trust Tsukimori Ryosuke like that.
"Here it is," went Kaneko, "at the end of the street."
The view was... kind of familiar, Kiyama guessed. He narrowed his eyes, trying to pick out the details in the houses before him, when he noticed that Kaneko had stopped walking. He looked to both sides before turning around to see the bespectacled boy a few paces behind him. He was suddenly looking very serious.
"I'm... I'm sorry to say this... I hope you won't take it in the wrong way... It's just that... It feels like you don't really want... to do this... The sleepover I mean..."
Kiyama just stood there. People didn't surprise him often, but just now...
He'd wondered how many people really thought anything of his awkwardness, his downright need not to be as friendly as everyone else. Of the people who really took it seriously and not just some "quirk", barely anyone would say something to him about it, not to his face. And even it someone did him out on it, no one ever did it so... nicely. It was very strange. This was very strange. If Kiyama wasn't feeling awkward before, he suddenly started at that moment.
At the same time, he felt this odd appreciation for the usually sharp-tonged boy.
"But... we are going to have fun! We might not do anything special, but we can still spend some time relaxing with each other... I think it's a good thing... For the team... For each of us..."
Then Kaneko stared at Kiyama with this determined look on his face. The latter simply stared back. It took a moment for him to regroup enough to try and say something, and when he did, he found himself distracted by a nice-looking car speeding past them.
He'd had this line of thought many times before. He liked everyone on the team... it was harder to like a few of the members, and it felt like not all of them "meshed" well all of the time, but he liked them. It was just... so much. Now they were going to this party where they'd braid each others' hair and tell all their secrets. Kiyama couldn't do that. Kiyama couldn't play in anyone's hair.
Or get all personal with them.
His mind fluttered to the things Tsukimori had said that night. Everyone already knew too much him, but would claim that they're okay, and that they were all friends... but obviously, they were holding something against him. For Tsukimori to say was he did...
Kiyama looked down at his gift for the Tsukimoris, to the boy standing by him, and then to down the street. If Kaneko was so empathetic, he'd understand if Kiyama turned around and went home. At that point, it wasn't just a question of his own comfort. There was the rest of the team to think about -- a few members in particular -- and Tsukimori's family. They hadn't gotten to the blonde yankee's house yet, so nobody had to know he'd bailed like that. Later he could call -- no, text -- someone about a family emergency and no one would be all the wiser... save for Kaneko, but they were on the same page with this.
He'd do that.
Then he noticed that Kaneko's attention was elsewhere. Kiyama followed the boy's gaze to the end of the street, in the direction of that car that had just flown by.
Out of Tsukimori's house walked Hino Tetsuya, looking quite upset. Had something happened already? Kiyama knew that Hino was probably the most abrasive member of the group, but had something really happened that would make him leave? It definitely didn't seem right. One look to Kaneko confirmed that his classmate thought that there was something wrong, as well.
Kiyama grit his teeth and looked towards the Tsukimori residence. Like... two seconds ago, he'd resolved to get out of this stupid sleepover crap and--
"Let's go," he muttered, gesturing down the street. Kaneko followed.
Within minutes, the two were standing at Tsukimori's front door, and Kiyama found himself feeling as weird as he did ever other time he visited the blonde's house. Kiyama knocked on the door, lowered his fist, and waited for a moment. He then took a large step to the side, while grabbing Kaneko and pulling him in front of the door, therefore becoming the person that whoever would answer to.
Just in case the shorter boy would look at him or ask, he made a point to look away, and out at... something, anything that could take his attention. And it ended up being that weirdly-shaped bush in front of the neighbor's house. That same one that he'd spotted the last time he'd come to Tsukimori's place.
Yeah, it'd be better this way.
OOC: Godmodded at the end, but I think Alice okay'ed it~

OOC: There will be no talk of "sucking" at roleplaying when it's not true. Unless you're referring to my posts, at which point it would be true. O.O
Ryosuke looked up when the phone went off, slightly surprised to see it belonged to Hino. The other boy's face seemed to fall as he spoke with whoever was on the other end. Ryosuke figured he could take a few good guesses who the 2nd year was talking to. He considered saying something to the other to try to help out, maybe he could convince Hino's family that they would be....doing something tumbling-related all night or something, but it looked like it was already too late. By the end of the conversation, Hino's desperation to stay had become self-evident, and the look of glumness that crosses his otherwise placid features told Ryosuke that Hino had just lost that battle.
Ryosuke didn't even really have the chance to say anything to the other boy. Mizusawa got there first.
"What are you doing?" Mizusawa certainly didn't sound happy either.
Ryosuke watched the other boy gathering up his bags and suddenly felt a swell of agitation towards Hino's family. Hino could be the annoyingly prude type when he wanted to be, but he'd come to Ryosuke's place to finally get away from that. To just have a night out to hang out with the rest of the guys and relax. It just seemed really unfair. Hadn't the Hinos heard of teamwork before?
"I'm leaving, everyone."
Everyone was probably feeling much the same way as Ryosuke at this point. Except for the TV blaring, the room was almost silent.
"Bye."
Ryosuke quickly clambered to his feet, wondering if maybe he ought to protest, ought to ask the 2nd year to let him talk to his parents and try and convince them to let him stay. After all, it was already getting late and he shouldn't be going home on his own. What if he didn't have a ride back?
But in the end, all he managed to get out was a, "Here....take some of the food with you, okay? Sorry...." Then he'd stuffed some of the junk food in the other boy's hands, wondering somewhere in the back of his mind whether Hino would actually get to end up eating them. He was so thin already, the Yankee doubted it. He doubted Hino ever got to eat anything other than what his family thought suitable for him.
Ryosuke waited at the door with the 2nd year--it turned out that someone was going to drive him home, at least--and watched somewhat sadly as the other left. It was Hino's father behind the wheel, and it had probably been Hino's father on the other end of the phone line too. Ryosuke felt his eyes narrow at the guy. He knew he was serious about rhythmic gymnastics, he knew he wanted his son to be at his best.....But confining him to his home and keeping him away from friends would only make things worse. Make him an empty shell. And as far as Ryosuke knew, empty shells didn't do all that well at anything, let alone rhythmic gymnastics.
As he closed the door behind Hino, Ryosuke knew he had to be honest with himself and admit that as much as he hated being ignored by his family, it had to be a whole lot better than the way Hino was being treated. He at least had a bit more freedom. Hino was in an invisible cage...
It seemed Ryosuke had only just closed the door when suddenly there was knocking again. And at first the Yankee boy considered that maybe Hino had come back, convinced his father to let him return.....Then he realized what it actually was. Or had to be.
Not Hino. Either Kaneko.....or Kiyama.
There was actually a moment of hesitation where Ryosuke wondered whether this idea for a party had been a good one at all. The sound of the TV blaring from the living room and the thought of how everyone must be feeling after Hino had been forced to leave....He'd recently had a fall out with Kiyama. How had setting up a sleepover with him been a good idea?
Because you needed it....you needed to make things better. Spend time with the guys again, do something before everyone found out about what happened and thought you were some kind of jerk.... He wondered if Kiyama had said anything about that night between the two of them to the other guys yet. It didn't seem that way, thankfully...
"Gotta answer the door at some point," Ryosuke told himself, running a hand through his hair uneasily as he turned back to the face the front door. "Anyway, better than waiting for them to ring that damn doorbell next......"
The door was opened.
Ryosuke grimaced.
He'd been anticipating this moment all evening. At least, in the back of his mind, anyway. Even though there was still a sense of discomfort around Kiyama, enough time had passed that he no longer felt like he hated the guy. He just....didn't think Kiyama felt the same. And he felt awkward and weird-ish in return. In fact, he wondered why Kiyama had showed up at all, because he didn't think the other looked all that thrilled to be here.
Ryosuke trained his eyes on the much shorter baldy in front of his fellow Yankee and former friend. That felt much easier. "Kaneko, Kiya.....yeah, guys, just come in." He stepped out of the way for the others to enter, daring a look at the darker Yankee on his way in.
He could do this.
Why had he set up a sleepover again?
No....he could do this. And it would be fun. DAMN if it wouldn't be a fun sleepover.
"Everyone's right through there in the living room, so....just throw your stuff anywhere and go relax."
He waited for the new arrivals to get fully inside before heading back to the room with the others.
